The Culture of Poverty is defined as people in poverty developing certain habits that cause their families to remain in poverty over generations. Oscar Lewis explains how people develop a stagnant mindset of values and culture that they remain poor and this poverty will pass it down from generation to generation. Ex.-Nigeria      For example, despite low income , younger citizens often question their parents' choices to have such large families.
